Meet the President
 Anthony Clatterbuck is a 4th generation carpenter. His
lifelong career in the construction industry started when he was just
13 years old working with his father, Guy Clatterbuck, Sr. Anthony
worked his way through the ranks for various homebuilders until
realizing his dream of becoming a homebuilder.
He founded Ace Carpentry, Inc, a residential frame and trim carpentry
subcontractor, in 1983 with two of his lifelong friends, Kenneth
Shifflett and Gary Long. His wife, Linda, was instrumental in the
success of the company – running payroll, purchasing, and many other
duties. By 2004, Ace Carpentry had become one of the largest trim and
frame subcontractors in the Washington Metropolitan area.
After being approached by customers with the request that Ace build
homes for them, he formed Graystone Homes, Inc. in 1989. Graystone
became a custom homebuilding company known for their attention to
detail, superior craftsmanship and flexibility.
As Graystone Homes continued to grow and develop they were perceived
as a custom homebuilder catering only to the higher end market.
Anthony knew that he was capable of building in the moderately priced
market, but misconception of Graystone Homes was keeping potential
customers from contacting him. In 1995, Westwood Homes, LLC was formed
in order to satisfy the demand for high-quality construction at a
lower cost.
